What is sent to our server

The tools do their work on the AnnoDev server, not on your device. When you press a tool's main button, the files, text or numbers you gave that tool are sent to the server. The server makes the result and sends it back to your page.

Most tools send nothing while you type. A few send your input after a short pause, and they say so next to the field. The measure on a map tool sends point positions each time you add a point.

How long we keep it

Your files, text and numbers are held in the server's memory only while your result is made. They are never written to disk, never saved in a database and never logged. When the result has been sent back, they are gone. Results are not stored either, so nobody else can open them.

Like every website, our servers keep access logs: your IP address, the time, the address you asked for and your browser type. They never contain your files or text. The web server deletes its access logs after at most five weeks. The tool server keeps only its newest 30 MB of log lines and deletes older lines automatically.

Where it is processed

The tool pages come from Amazon CloudFront, with the files stored by Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt, Germany. The tools themselves run on an AnnoDev server in Hungary. Visit counts are kept on an AnnoDev server at Hetzner in Germany.

Visit counts

We count visits with Umami, an analytics program we run ourselves. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. It records the page address, the site you came from, your browser, device type, screen size, language and country, and which tool buttons were used. It never records what you type or the files you add.

Pages without advertising

Tool workspaces do not load advertising scripts. Wi-Fi and JSON workspaces also do not load visit-count scripts. Advertising is limited to the main tool directory, which does not process your files or text.

Cookies and similar tools

AnnoDev Tools sets no cookies of its own. When advertising is enabled, Google’s consent message manages the relevant choices and storage.

Google AdSense is our selected advertising provider. Advertising stays disabled until site approval and consent setup are complete. When enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies and device information to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Personalised advertising also uses your interests and activity. Non-personalised advertising may still use cookies. Google’s consent message lets you consent, decline or manage options where required. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to see, correct and delete personal data about you, and to object to its use. AnnoDev Tools keeps no account, profile or saved input about you, and our access logs are retained as described above. Advertising partners process data under their own policies when advertising is enabled. You can also complain to the Hungarian data protection authority, NAIH, at naih.hu.
